Review by hotel critic
Just returned from a lovely family getaway at Wye Valley Hotel in the heart of Tintern, and I must say, it has all the charm you'd want for a homey escape. We found the location perfect for exploring the stunning Wye Valley, with ample walking paths that the whole family enjoyed. On one of our hiking days, we strained our legs a bit, but the breathtaking views made it all worthwhile. Barry and Sue were welcoming hosts who genuinely cared about our experience. Each morning started with a hearty breakfast that set us up for the day ahead. The kids particularly liked the butchers' sausage and bacon-definitely a hit! One evening, we decided to have dinner at the hotel all three nights because the food was solid, with proper homecooked meals. Plus, the bar area had this inviting vibe that encouraged relaxation after a day of activities. We appreciated the spacious car park, and my family made use of nearby canoeing options as well. I recommend this hotel for families seeking a friendly and accommodating atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!
